Mayapur is unique in a few ways. It is the place where Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is laid to rest. This is also the place where the world’s largest temple is being built with generous funding being managed by the grandson of the founder of Ford motors.
Sri Krishna’s idol in the Mayapur Krishna temple is very beautiful and I recommend everyone to visit this place at leisure. The whole city gets very colorful and crowded during Janmashtami (Lord Krishna’s birthday) so I would advise you to avoid going during that time if you are averse to crowded places.
